Hello beauties,
So as promised, I bring to you my thoughts on the maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser which I purchased the other day, there’s been a lot of controversy over the quality of this product so I hope I can help clear some of that up but also remember not every product works the same way for each person!
Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser is a silicone based primer with ‘instablur’ technology, it claims to remove the appearance of pores ‘instantly’, leaving you with a smooth flawless finish. You can use the product alone or in between your moisturiser and foundation.
The packaging is really simple but at the same time eye-catching with the bright pink writing on the Turquoise tube. I really like the idea of the squeezy tube as very little product goes to waste, however, if you accidentally squeeze too much out then there’s no way to put it back again, which I realised when I opened it and ended up with it everywhere, you do only need a small amount.
The product itself has a really weird feeling to it, it’s like a slightly textured gel as it comes out but almost feels like a very soft powder as you’re applying it. I personally think it feels slightly greasy but at the same time it dried my nose out again (which unfortunately happens quite often with me anyway). It is however very lightweight and my face seemed to stay in place a lot easier than my normal primer.
I didn’t realise how hard it is to get a good photo of my pores! So from left to right we have bare skin, instant pore eraser on it’s own and with a thin layer of foundation over the pore eraser. The results looked so much better in person than in the photos but you can see that although it doesn’t ‘erase’ my pores it does in fact blur them and makes my foundation cover them so much better than before! Close to flawless, I think with the right foundation it’d be almost perfect.
A definite 4.5/5 from me!
Have you had any experience with this primer?? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Also if you have a review of this leave the link so I can check out your results.

I really want to try this! I’m currently using the Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur and it’s amazing 🙂
It’s definitely worth a shot 🙂 ooh I need to get my hands on some etude house products, I’ve heard some amazing reviews about them 🙂 x
I tried this and hated the greasy feeling. I kept giving it a try, but I don’t find it did anything for me. I don’t have large pores anyway, but I don’t feel like this helped my makeup stay on. If anything the greasiness just made my skin feel worse. I just didn’t like this as much as other primers I’d used. I don’t think it did anything for me, unfortunately!
Oh that’s unfortunate 😦 clinique, benefit and no7 also have similar products which might be worth a try if it’s something you’re looking for x
I’m using the rimmel lasting primer at the moment 🙂 x
Ooh I’ve heard a lot of good things about that, I may have to add it to my never-ending list to buy 😂 x
yes, I really love it. I used to use the GOSH velvet touch primer, but wanted to try something new (thats when I got the baby skin and wasn’t too impressed – I really wanted to love it). I picked up the Rimmel one as it was on offer and I really love it – it gives a lovely dewy finish too 🙂 x
Ooh yeah I’ll definitely be getting one then lol 🙂 i haven’t tried the gosh one but I only really go to them for their liquid eyeliners lol xx
yeah i havent used much from GOSH but I loved their primer! 🙂 definitely recommend the Rimmel one 🙂 x
Lol, thanks for the recommendation 🙂 i can’t wait to try it now lol 🙂 x
Hope you like it x
Thank you 🙂 fingers crossed x
Your photos really do such a great job showing the blur effect! Thanks for the review.
It was a struggle to get a decent photo but I’m glad I’m not the only one who can see the results 🙂 you’re welcome 🙂 thank you xx
The last picture looks visibly different, definitely works for you. Just started following your blog, your pictures are so pretty to look at!

I was quite surprised with the results 🙂 aww thank you that’s so kind 🙂 x
I’m happy that this product worked for you. Unfortunately I don’t feel that it did anything for me.
Oh that’s a shame 😦 clinique, benefit and no7 also have similar products which have had really good results so it might be worth checking those out 🙂 x
Thanks for the tip:)
You’re welcome 🙂 x
I thought it felt quite greasy, did you? I haven’t done a review on it yet, but it was quite slimy, haha can’t think of any other way to describe it!
